Teamwork is crucial in development and a potential employer will want to know that you have a certain grade of communicative skills. Before I changed to getting into a developer role, I was actually a pharmacy assistant at Boots. (Like a CVS in the states) and I had to do a lot of talking to customers, explaining their medications, helping them find what they need and speaking with doctors on the phone. But I was very anxiety ridden every day and went to work dreading it. Also, working in that area of the shop was filled with people who were sick or in pain, so they were snappy from the start, which put me on edge. So, not really a place for someone who stammers, or at the very least, not for me. You’re right, teamwork is key in most jobs. My stammer mainly kicks off if I know the person who is talking to me isn’t very kind or nice, or even judgy.
