I definitely feel like I can express myself better through writing. I can use whatever words I want, where I want, how I want, without any worry. Furthermore other things I struggle to get how I want, namely tone and timing, are removed from the equation which 'levels the playing field'. I've been told quite a lot that I'm a really good writer. Which I find quite sad, in a way, I write how I want to speak. But I can't speak like I write.
