Couldn't you have written the word somewhere? It sometimes helps getting it out of the way, in order to continue. This is also one of the cases where substitution can come in handy, I suppose. I don't know much about your situation, but it seems to me that you should just focus on teaching, and not spend time explaining something in the past like that.
