We aren’t “chosen” in the sense it’s regularly used (superiority). The Torah or whatever says we are *chosen* to comply with gods rules, many which actually made sense at the time they were made. The goal of the 613 rules that came at mt Sinai were to keep them alive, make future generations, and teach the future generations the practices that kept them alive.
