Unfortunately it’s unrealistic to think it will ever go away. You literally have to practice talking, reading news articles out loud to yourself, talking on the phone with friends, engaging with the cashier at the grocery store. Get out of your head. What sincerely helped me the most was my attitude around it and connecting with others in the stuttering community. Go online and see if there is any stuttering support groups in your town or city. It makes you feel less alone and you can vent about your experiences. Self acceptance is key and remember when you do block infront of someone, be kind to yourself. If you put too much emotional weight and self esteem on speaking fluently infront of others you will stress yourself out more and the anxiety to speak will get worse/ contribute to more stuttering.
