Reading a book to my Xbox party

Reading a book to my Xbox party So my dad is making me read a book before school starts back up. I chose “I can’t make this up” by Kevin Hart. So I decided to read the book to my friends in an Xbox party as they played uno. I did this because i knew it would be helpful for my stutter and because the book is really inappropriate, and to a bunch of 14-15 year old boys that’s hilarious. So I began reading and on the second page in, my friend stops me and says “why are you reading it like that”. I was ok with this and calmly explained to him about what a stutter is (this is because the whole party already knew I have a stutter). I began reading again and about 3 seconds later he says “ok I understand but why are you reading it like; he w-was... a good... f-father”. My other friend in the party explained that it was because of my stutter but he was just not listening. I got frustrated and left the party and turned off my Xbox. I felt annoyed because since I have a stutter people don’t take the time to listen to what I have to say because they loose interest about 6 seconds into a bad block. Should I have reacted the way I did?
