I've done debates in front of large groups of people before. You can't just stop feeling something by telling yourself to stop(for example: don't think of a white elephant), but you can redirect focus somewhere else. I don't know what it is you're talking about, but if you can, get yourself really into it. Enough zeal can quiet any fear.
