It really all depends on the person interviewing. I’ve gotten turned down before after interviews where I stuttered some, and hired after ones I stuttered a lot in. Aim for smaller local businesses, like an independent retail store, cafe, or service position (in lawn care, pest control, etc.) , not big corporate spots like Walmart or McDonald’s. And definitely let the person know before you start the interview that you stutter. I always said, “I have a speech impediment but it doesn’t interfere with my work. It just takes me longer to say certain things, that’s all.”. Some ideas I’d check into if I were you: Positions in local government (service workers, cleaning, desk jobs, library, whatever position that requires on job training or acquired skill set you can do) Janitorial positions anywhere, especially schools or office buildings Hands on jobs, like construction, road work/crew, electric company service, cable/internet company service, pest control, landscaping, pool service, AC repair, plumbing, mechanics, etc.
