moments of confusion and panic while "trying-hard" to speak Is is only me or does this happen to some of the people who stutter. I can speak normally without any hiccups, just some mild form of stuttering here and there. Like for example, i have no problems in trying to talk with my siblings and my friends etc. But when i come across a tense social situation which involves me to a lot of critical thinking, like for example one time i stumbled across a really attractive classmate while working out in the gym, where i consciously know that i meed to do a lot of thinking and plan my next best rhetoric or perish :p I would like have this brief moment of confusion, like it would last for only a couple of milliseconds and then it would go away. It feels like you’re gonna faint or something, but you don’t. And it only strikes when you are very “intensely” thinking of something on the fly while communicating. Previously I mistook it for some seizures of some sorts and had it checked by a neurologist. (p.s. I was diagnosed with epilepsy back a couple of years ago so I didn’t want to take the risk). The MRI was normal. The neurologist dismissed by saying that it is a natural body reaction, and that such moments of brief confusion are like a stress response and that it is completely “psychogenic”and an “acquired-habit”. I was asked to go a psychiatrist, which i still haven’t gone to. i want to know that whether the people in the community experience a similar phenomenon?
