I did in high school at a grocery store. I won't lie, it was a little rough at first. But I adjusted, almost had a script that I followed. Then I started making small talk with people, some really appreciated that. Those people would purposefully wait in my line just to say hi. Honestly I really enjoyed it. Some people will be rude, but those people would be rude no matter what. Fuck them. But there's more nice people in the world. You'll probably run into dickhead kids. It'll be hard but try to shrug it off. Being able to not show that somebody's shitty behavior bugs you will serve you well later on your career/life.
