IMHO stuttering is on the same plane as bad eyesight or bad hearing which are often greatly helped by a prosthetic (eyeglasses or hearing aids). Stuttering is often greatly helped with a prosthetic like the Edinburgh Masker or the Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) device. It helped me immensely.
