Exactly. That is what I'm saying. And I agree, people give up, I know from experience. I try to bring across to people in this place that fluency isn't going to happen. A lot of people seem to know there's no cure but go on looking and judging their day to day based on fluency. Fluency would be the outcome of a cure to stuttering. It's this mindset that has to be overcome, it ain't easy, I'll never say it is. For some people it can happen later in life, for some they need to see/hear it to understand, Atleast I did. Learning to not worry about fluency but rather concentrate on getting what you want to say out, without changing words, avoiding words, using filler words and so forth, is what got me through it. So I guess it's all about adapting as well as possible to the situation and not letting your stutter define your life. If you find a way to do that, without worrying about fluency (because the bottom line is, we'll never be fluent), your life will improve. That's how I've experienced it anyway.
