When you say "avoidance", do you mean we are actively avoiding saying words or is this a technical term I've yet to hear of? I for one feel less as though I'm avoiding stuttering rather the words just get stuck in my throat. I think though this came later on as my stutter gradually improved because now I can feel a stutter coming and to, I guess, avoid repeating, I block instead in an effort to get the word out without repeating. I still do repeat sounds, but it's only once or twice. I feel I block more often than repeat. I'm not saying you're wrong here, I'm trying ot understand what you're saying to perhaps help myself understand my stutter more.
