Stutter virtually disappears with the advent of caffeine via coffee In February, I was finally diagnosed with inattentive ADHD, after a lifetime of not knowing, of wondering what was wrong with me, thinking I was broken. As a result, before the meds I was prescribed came in, I began self-medicating by drinking black coffee with some soy milk, to cool it down and in order to be able to ingest it faster. Well, folks. What I soon discovered was that by treating my ADHD in this fashion, as long as I had enough caffeine in me, my stutter was virtually gone. I block when I stutter, the words getting caught in my mouth and throat before they ever escape, but the coffee and the caffeine freed my tongue like nothing else ever has! If I thought about it too much, I might stutter again, but even that was more chill and manageable, allowing me to keep going with my thought. I've stuttered since I was a kid, age 3 or 4, I've been to years and years of speech therapy (I'm 40 now), and nothing has EVER worked as good or as quickly as this! I'm now curious if it'll work as well with others as it has with me? Could you all try it and see? Stuttering is still such a black box, with not enough funding to find out more. If this is something that works across the board, it could be a game changer!
