Might be a blessing in disguise man. What are your reasons for wanting to join the military? I don't want to make this a political discussion but read some books and articles written by veterans. There is a reason suicide rate is so high among veterans, PTSD is rampant, etc. Going to war can fuck you up for life. It can ruin your life. And for what? If you are going military for financial reasons or your options are limited, I get it... but why not go Coast Guard or Air Force where your chances of seeing combat are minimal? You'll probably run into smarter people as well. Try and get into one of their cyber security programs where you will actually have transferable job skills when you enter civilian life. You should check out this podcast of a former sniper who speaks candidly of his time in the military and both the negatives and positives of his experience: https://chrisryanphd.com/tangentially-speaking/2018/8/13/334-weston-trapp-falconerformer-sniper And lastly, fuck that recruiter.
