I think it’s okay to have complicated feelings about stuff like this. Even when someone has good intentions, it’s frustrating when you just want to be treated like everyone else and are made to feel like a problem. I’ve had interactions like this with people where I wished they didn’t acknowledge my speech and gave me the space I needed. There’s no right or wrong way to feel about it.
