Brothers and sisters, I need your advice. Should I change my major from Computer Science to Politics and International Relations? This post may be long, so thanks for taking your time to read it. My background: I'm a 23 years old mild stutterer from Iraq, Kurdistan(a peaceful region in Iraq). And now I'm entering my second year of computer science, in my English medium university. Throughout my life, I always had a passion for computers and technology, but I also have much higher passion for politics, reading and writing. Now, I'm really in doubt about changing my major from "Computer Science" to "Global Politics and Diplomatic Studies". Reasons that I want to change my major: * I don't really enjoy studying CS, even though I did well. Last year I hated every minute of it, and I'm not good at math. * The entire politics curriculum is English, I will learn English really well. Unlike computer science, the politics department has a lot of native English lecturers. * The university is highly prestigious, our current president was a former British minister. * I'm really really competent at writing in my native language(Kurdish), many people told me that. I think I developed that because of my stuttering. * Politics is the only topic I can talk about with people. Because of that, many of my friends were surprised that I chose CS not Politics. * There are very few people who have a tech background in politics, I have a really good tech background, I can code, design and have some basic knowledge in cybersecurity which I want to improve even more in that field. * I don't want to sit with my computer all day. Stuttering made me not be a social person, but I always liked to be a social person. * Politics is easier than CS, and I have a part-time job (Graphic Designing). * I have a lot of knowledge about global politics * I'm tall. lol I add that beacuase I read an article which indicated that the americans tend to vote for taller politician. Reasons that I don't want to change my major: * I have a mild stuttering, sometimes I'm really good at speaking, sometimes I can't say a sentence. I never had a speech therapist in my life, and I never practised speaking. So maybe practising will help me to speak better. * I'm 23 years old, so if I change my major, that means I wasted one year of my life. * Politics is a bit more expensive than CS. (CS: 2,500$ a year, Politics: 3,000$ a year). So guys, beased on your experiece, should I change my major? What studying politics and international realations look like for a person who stutter? Thanks! Edit: I added another point.
