Congrats! Getting a job is scary enough so you are so brave for putting yourself out there. My first job was at a supermarket, and whilst a great place to work, you will run into a-holes or people who are ignorant, impatient or just having a bad day. Don’t let them get you down!! You are there for a reason and as long as you are committed to doing your job, you’re an asset to the team regardless of any circumstances. For me, I find it helps to disclose I have a stutter before I continue a conversation, not because I feel guilty (and you shouldn’t) but so i have taken a step to bring awareness to it. I normally say something like “I just wanted to let you know that I have a speech impediment/stutter, so if I seem to be blocked on a word, just give me a minute and I will get it out :)” But you do you and what you are comfortable with, I’ve come to a point in my life where I accept my stutter, you’ve got to do the best thing for you and your well-being at the end of the day. Your stutter does not define you and good luck, sending lots of love!!
