I consider myself very lucky. My childhood was very happy. My speech was actually not much of a hindrance to me. I had friends who lived nearby who didn't mind my stutter. School actually helped. I was one of the kids who was taken out of class for speech therapy for an hour up until 4 grade. After that, I was only taken out of class during tests, and an aid would write down my essays as I talked. The real problem had been the last year, with my stuttering seemling getting worse and my mental health has become a bit of battle. With that said, I feel like I got a lot of support as a child, and I'm grateful for that.
