Dude, I totally understand. Too many times I would have Non-stutters compare me to people who've had a stutter, like famous people, and it's like, we are not the same people. No one's stutter is the same. And they would try to educate me on MY stutter and their 'supposed' theories on how to 'treat me'. Mind you, these aren't Therapists or researchers on speech impediments and other disabilities, these are your common joe people who are often ignorant and believe they know better because they've spoken to me once or twice. I do not wish to be 'cured', as that makes it seem like you want me to fit in and be 'normal'. Why can't people just accept that not everyone is the same and we are extremely diverse, regardless of how severe our stutters are, or what our core behaviors are? Comparing us to each other is just plain wrong.
