I’m a second year vet student and I used to question if I could communicate with clients effectively. We had these mock “client simulations” earlier this spring and my guy (a local actor) was so understanding about my stutter. During the feedback part of the interaction, he told me that it’s such a part of me and to not shy away from it. Dude doesn’t know how much that stuck with me. I considered disclosing it before I began my spiel about his imaginary dog but once I got in the room I felt comfortable enough to forego disclosing and instead told him afterwards.
