Working as a receptionist with a stutter Note: I don't work in reception full time, I'm admin, but I cover reception when the receptionist is on lunch, is off or has appointments. I've had a lot of experience. At first, I found it very hard, it wasn't too bad when I was starting out, when people would phone up, they would realise eventually. But phoning people up was hard. But my workplace was very accommodating. They let me put a sign up when I was covering letting people know I had stutter before they spoke up to me. They also let me make a recording on my phone letting people know that I have stutter and what the organisation is before the phone call begins. I play this on my mobile before every phone call. I put my phone next to the work phone.
