Unfortunately, some people don't 'grow up' when they become older. There will be some individuals who will mock you and there will also be some people who will be very sympathetic with you. I used to have a very severe stutter and have had it mocked before. But just know that you shouldn't let other people's attitudes interfere with your daily and personal life :)
