Your brain perceives it as another person bc that’s the intended audience. Blocking is a mild form of panic - if you can speak fine when alone but struggle to even say your own name around others, the cause is panic/fear probably from a long time ago. This is important to realize bc it’s the key to significantly and permanently decreasing blocking. Actually, many of us have bizarrely similar patterns, especially if we mostly block - trouble w our names, ordering food, names if important places/hobbies, etc, words that start with those sounds. We have weird facial expressions when blocking and think that switching words is the best way to deal with it.
