Not stuttering at all is a reduction in stuttering, and therefore it is not incorrect to say “stutter less” for that situation. What did you think you had to gain by trying to word mince your way out of the question? There is nothing strange about developing avoidant and negative behaviors to deal with a handicap, just as there is nothing strange with reducing its impact by good habits and positive thinking. These are not cures, they are ways to manage the worst effects of a handicap. This is not even remotely at odds with stuttering being a neurological issue. So, again, can you explain why you being confused means it’s alright to reject science while still pretending to be educated on the subject?
